Her recent research focuses on international education policy and development in China and the United States, talent development for international organizations, the mental health and wellbeing of international students, and the learning and development of minority student populations. Her research draws on sociological, organizational, critical, and policy evaluation perspectives and employs qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods to examine key issues in higher education. In addition to her continuing interest in comparative perspectives on Chinese and international higher education, her current research focuses on the evaluation and reform of general education, college student mental health, and graduate education.
